Latin Pride: 25 Queer Artists We’re Obsessed With
Pride Month is officially here, and to celebrate, Billboard Latin has compiled a list of Homosexual Latin artists we’re obsessed with. But before, let’s remnant back to some of the artists who had prolonged kept their sexual identities a covert and became a new beacon of hope for the next generation of artists.
Most notably, Puerto Rican superstar Ricky Martin became one of the first mainstream Latin stars to arrive out in 2010. “I am very proud to utter that I am a fortunate lgbtq+ man,” he expressed in an unseal letter that he wrote on his website.
A couple of years prior, RBD member Christian Chávez used the group’s website to express that he “was not prepared to speak in fear of rejection, of criticism, but especially for my family and its consequences,” but that it was “time to grow up, not only as a human entity but also as an artist.” In the lengthy letter, he asked his fans to not judge him for his honesty and to feel arrogant of who they are.

¿Cómo comenzó el evento en 1978 y cómo ha evolucionado a lo largo de los años?
La historia del día del Orgullo Gay comienza en 1978, cuando un grupo de activistas LGBT+ decidieron organizar una celebración anual para conmemorar el Stonewall riots de 1969 en Nueva York. El primer evento, conocido como «El Día del Orgullo Gay», se llevó a cabo el 25 de junio de 1978 y consistió en un desfile y una serie de actividades culturales en distintos puntos de la ciudad.
A lo largo de los años, el Orgullo Gay Madrid ha evolucionado y se ha convertido en uno de los eventos más importantes de la comunidad LGBT+ en España y en el mundo. A medida que la celebración ha ganado en popularidad, ha atraído a un número cada vez mayor de participantes y espectadores.
