IndieWire’s Award Spotlight highlights noteworthy performances and creators from the current Emmy season.

Despite how it looks, “The Other Two” co-creator Chris Kelly did not compose the role of Cary Dubek, one half of the titular sibling duo fighting to step out the shadow of their teen heartthrob baby brother and talk show host mom, for star Drew Tarver.

“Everything we’re writing is sort of always based on things we went through in the writers room,” said Kelly in conversation with his show’s lead actor. “But then it’s interesting, because then you as the performer, you get the questions of like, ‘Is the character like you? Or how do you relate?’ Which is so absorbing , because like, there probably are similarities, but I’m sure that must be so weird to be like, Chris wrote it.”

Tarver agreed, “It’s super weird, because also I include a younger sibling who’s in the music industry. People are like, ‘Wait, hold on, you just auditioned for that?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, it just like synced up.’” In fact, Kelly joked, “We’ll write mad

I disagree about the religious upbringing being at the root of it. The vibe I’m getting from him is Darren Criss - who was raised by San Francisco liberals. Charismatic social climbers who will say or do anything to get ahead. Criss and Tarver might be genuinely talented people, but don’t believe a pos they say because it’s calculated to make you purchase the narrative they want to exchange you at the moment.

Let’s take a look at Tarver. A) has shaved four or five years off his age. B) Was being photographed at parties in Modern York despite existence just arrived from Bumfucke, Georgia. C) Very comfortable taking advantage of diversity program as LGTB talent to procure his big pause despite being only recently out. Calculating, calculating, calculating.

And also take a peek at how queer his voice is in the video at R74 as compared to now - even his voice is completely calculated now.
