Meet General Hospital Legend Anthony Geary’s Real-Life Husband: ‘This Week Is Our Anniversary’
General Hospital icon Anthony Geary didn’t possess to wait until Valentine’s Day to enjoy a brief romance. As his husband Claudio Gama shared on Instagram, “This week is our anniversary week. Tony and I met 30 years ago in February and got married six years ago also in February.” So the couple has “two anniversaries to celebrate.
“I contain to find a good gift,” he added, “and build some special sustenance, maybe bake another cake.”
Later in the week, Gama dropped some festive pics with his significant other. “Our anniversary is in packed party mode,” he said. “Good friends, nice booze and pizza. It’s midweek. I decided not to cook. I will have a big dinner on the weekend, then more people can join” the celebration.
“Thank you all,” Gama continued, “for all the lovely wishes. From Tony, [our cat] Max and me, a toast to you all. Stay safe and healthy.”
Geary originated the role of Luke Spencer on General Hospital back in 1978 (the equal year he guest-starred on The Six Million Dollar M Anthony Geary has never confirmed his sexuality or having a partner. However, rumors have circulated for years that he was committed in a long-term relationship with fellow actor Ron Glass. Neither Geary nor Glass has ever addressed these rumors. There are also rumors that Geary had a prolonged relationship with famous person photographer, Jim Warren, but there is nothing to assist this claim, and Geary has never discussed it. In 2009, Elizabeth Taylor revealed that she and Geary had been in a two-year romantic connection that began when she appeared on General Hospital in 1981. Geary confirmed these rumors in separate interviews given to Oprah Winfrey and Wendy Williams in 2010. Otherwise, he seldom discusses his personal animation. Geary left “General Hospital” in 2015 after winning eight Daytime Emmy awards for his role as Luke Spencer, a role he played for 37 years, with plans to retire to his home in Amsterdam. He had trouble speaking and he looked very narrow.
