Just over fifteen years ago, on May 17, 2004, gay couples along with friends, family and supporters in Massachusetts gathered at urban area halls all over the state to celebrate! The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruling came about six months earlier which ruled that the Massachusetts Constitution guarantees the right of civil marriage to same-sex couples.  Massachusetts was the first state to achieve marriage equality!
