Fifty Shades of Gay
The passion surprised me. I expected a BDSM PWP, and while I did fetch my smut, the romance also presented relationship shit one would normally notice in a earnest romance. Unfortunately, one issue stopped me from enjoying the book.
+ the protagonist
Alex narrated the story in 1st person POV, and I didn’t like it initially. The dude had too many thoughts going on his head. No, it was not a stream of consciousness (thank hell); he simply had many thoughts going on. Alex’s narration impeded the plot to the extent that it took several pages before the plot finally started and Alex met Grayson (in chapter 3). Afterward, Alex kept extolling how hot Grayson was. Yes, I get it, Alex. You’re horny and hot for Grayson, can we please move the plot along?
Eventually, the plot did move along. The narration rewarded me for my patience with personality growth. Slowly but surely, Alex grew as he demanded more from Grayson and entertained the idea that maybe he (Alex) shouldn’t have to resolve. Alex started off as naive but he grew out of it by the end.
I liked the evidence that just because he was ingenuous it didn’t represent he was dumb. In spite of his horniness, Ale

Venus – New York. Venus is one of my favorite characters in the “grey” movement. She doesn’t confine herself within any labeled sexuality, but she is loud and proud of everything that she is. Venus is a well known DJ and party promoter, and she’s made a name for herself within the hip hop planet, which she is helping evolve into a more accepting place.
iO Tillett Wright remembers the moment she decided to start living as a boy — age 6 when the kids at school barked at her that girls weren’t allowed to play basketball. As a teenager and adult, Tillett Wright went on to fall in affection with a girl, and then to fall in adoration with a man.
iO Tillett Wright: Fifty shades of gayAs she reveals in today’s bold talk, while marriage was far from her intellect in 2008 when California’s Proposition 8 sparked a national debate over male lover marriage, the conversation still struck her like a punch.
“I was shocked by the fact that America, a nation with such a tarnished civil rights record, could be repeating its mistakes so blatantly,” says Tillett Wright. “This p

I understand the fifty shades of grey series is a trilogy and not just 50 pages (your post said you only got through that much). What word is it sending in those first 50 pages?
Do you know if it's the same letter by the end of the last book?
As I said in my disclaimer, I couldn't stomach more than the first 50 pages of the guide. However, I know a lot of "vanilla" girls who read it and subsequently gushed about it FOR WEEKS, and a boatload of people in the BDSM community that wantedit to be a good representation of their sub(*snort*)culture because of the attention it was getting and thusly decided to read it as good. Based on these two completely opposing opinions giving me the same knowledge (though one loved and one loathed), I believe I made the right decision in putting it down.
