Anthony Rapp: a Lifetime in the Spotlight

Anthony Rapp was born in Chicago on October 26, 1971, but spent most of his childhood in Joliet, Illinois. His parents divorced when he was very adolescent, after which he was raised by his mother, who worked in the nursing field. Rapp credits his mother with making his career possible, referencing her tireless dedication to helping him get perform in theater.

Rapp got deeply interested in acting at a very young age. He credits working in the Joliet community theater scene with igniting his desire for acting. His first stage role was at the age of 6, and by age 9 he had his possess agent and received his Equity card. At that time, he joined a touring production of Evita that was playing in Chicago. This led to work on Broadway in The Little Prince and the Aviator (which never made it past previews), and then a national touring production of The King & I, in which Rapp, at the tender age of 10, performed alongside none other than Yul Brynner. We are beyond grateful that our surrogacy journey has allowed us to meet such wonderful people and helped us to become a family of four.”

Star Trek Actor Anthony Rapp and significant other Ken Ithiphol possess announced the birth of their first child.

According to Rapp’s post to Twitter, son Rai Larson Ithiphol was born on December 2, by “an incredibly generous surrogate.”

Rapp, 51, wrote that he and Ithiphol, 36, “are thrilled to share that our family has grown! Our son, Rai Larson Ithiphol, was brought into the world on Friday, December 2, 2022, by an incredibly generous surrogate, to whom we’re eternally grateful.(Rai is pronounced like “rye” or “chai.”) We adore him very much.”

Kevin Spacey apologizes after actor Anthony Rapp alleges past sexual advance; comes out as gay

LOS ANGELES - (AP) -- Actor Kevin Spacey said Sunday he is "beyond horrified" by allegations that he made a sexual advance on a teen boy decades ago.

The two-time Oscar winner posted on Twitter that he doesn't remember the encounter. "But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years," he said.

In an interview with BuzzFeed , actor Anthony Rapp said Spacey befriended him while they both performed on Broadway shows. Rapp was 14 when he attended a party at Spacey's apartment in 1986, he said. At the end of the bedtime, an inebriated Spacey picked him up, placed him on his bed, and climbed on highest of him, Rapp said.

Rapp said the 26-year-old was holding him down tightly, but he was able to get away and left the apartment.
